Turnbull Holcomb represents individuals who have developed mesothelioma, a rare and deadly cancer caused by exposure to asbestos fibers. Mesothelioma forms in the lining of the lungs, abdomen, or heart. Mesothelioma causes severe shortness of breath and chest pain. Unfortunately, the life expectancy for most mesothelioma patients is approximately 12 months following diagnosis.
Exposure to asbestos fibers can occur in a number of different settings, including during mining and processing of asbestos and the making of asbestos-containing products. Mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure typically takes 20 to 50 years after exposure to develop. As such, most people diagnosed with mesothelioma are in their 60s or 70s at the time of initial diagnosis. Most cases of mesothelioma are caused by exposure to asbestos at work; however, there have been recent reports of cancer caused by consumer exposure to Johnson & Johnson baby powder.
